67’s double Petes to close out 2012

The Ottawa 67’s doubled up the Petes 6-3 on Saturday night as the Petes closed out there 2012 schedule.


The Petes opened the scoring 7:14 into the game on Brett Findlay’s 1st of two on the night, but the 67’s replied with three goals before the end of the period from Sean Monahan at 8:10, Tylor Fielding at 15:20 and Ryan Van Stralen at 19:14 to take a 3-1 lead to the dressing room after 20 minutes.


The 67’s made it 4-1 36 seconds into the 2nd period with a powerplay marker by Cody Ceci and made it 5-1 just 37 seconds later on a goal by Brendan Bell.


The 67’s again opened the scoring in the 3rd period with Van Stralen’s 2nd of the game at 5:40, but the Petes battled back to cut the 67’s lead in half with goals at 11:50 by Findlay and again at 15:02 when Steven Trojanovic point shot beat 67’s netminder Clint Windsor to make the final 6-3.


The Petes outshot the 67’s 51-26 in the game.


Next up for the Petes are back to back games against the Belleville Bulls on Tuesday in Belleville and Thursday at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
