Peterborough Petes General Manager Mike Oke announced Tuesday that goaltender Blake Curran has been re-assigned to the Lindsay Junior A Muskies.
Curran, who was selected by the Petes in the third round, 55th overall by the Petes in the 2017 Under-18 OHL Priority Selection, played 29 games for the OJHL club in 2017-18 and recorded a 4.90 goals against average and .886 save percentage.
“Blake had a very good training camp, and we’re confident that during the season, should the need arise, he would be able to step in to play for us,” commented Oke. “We’ve decided that we’re going to start the season with Hunter Jones and Tye Austin, however, Blake will continue to take part in some team activities on and off the ice and continue working with (goalie coach) Andrew Verner so that he’ll be ready to go if and when he’s needed.”
The Petes continue practice this week in preparation for their home pre-season game on Thursday, September 13 at 7:05pm against the Kingston Frontenacs, and their 2018 Home Opener on Thursday, September 20 at 7:05pm, also against the Frontenacs. Tickets are available through the PMC Collins Barrow Box Office in person and over the phone Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 5:00pm, and 24 hours a day online.
