Bogosian Helps Team East win Skills Competition

The Ontario Hockey Leagues Eastern Conference All-Stars took a step in the right direction to winning their third consecutive OHL All-Star Classic with a 19-18 win in the Skills Competetion and 3 on 3 game last night in Sault Ste. Marie.

Highly ranked NHL Prospect and Peterborough Petes defenceman Zach Bogosian placed second in the hardest shot contest with a blast of 98.1mph. Bogosian tied defending hardest shot champion Josh Godfrey of the Soo Greyhounds, but was 1.1mph behind the winning blast of 99.2mph by Kitchener Rangers defenceman Yannick Weber.

Peterborough Minor Hockey Grad Michael Swift of the Niagara IceDogs was the fastest skater with a lap of 14.344 seconds.

Team East also won the Puck Relay, breakaway relay and the 3 on 3 game with a shoot out goal by OHL leading goal scorer Brett MacLean of the Oshawa Generals.

The 2008 OHL All-Star Classic is supported by OHL partners Boston Pizza, All Weather Windows, Subway, NAPA, Yamaha and Reebok.
