Bogosian scores 3, Petes win 8-4 over Generals
Zach Bogosian scored 3 goals and added an assist as the Peterborough Petes beat the Oshawa Generals 8-4. Zach Harnden opened the scoring 4:05 into the game and Bogosian scored at 17:37 to give the Petes a 2-0 first period lead.
The Petes increased their lead to 3-0 on Bogosian’s second of the night 4:45 into the second. The Petes then scored back to back markers just 22 seconds apart when Pat Daley scored his 21st of the season at 5:28 Branislav Rehus at 5:50 to give the Petes a 5-0 lead. The Generals got on the board a 8:45 when Brett Parnham beat Trevor Cann. The Generals cut the Petes lead to 5-2 at 17:27 on a goal by Michael Del Zotto.
The Petes restored their lead just 2:23 into the third period whn Brett Theberge scored his first of 2 goals. Bogosian completed the hat trick at 7:16 to give the Petes a 7-2 lead, however the Generals would battle back when Peterborough Minor Hockey Grad Patrick Asselin would stp around Trevor Cann to pot the Gens 3 of the game. Theberge scored his second of the game at 12:45 to round out the Petes scoring and the Generals would add one more on Brett MacLean’s 41st goal of the season
Next action for the Petes is Friday night when they travel to Guelph to take on the Storm.
Petes fans pulled together in support of Ontario Special Olympics collecting $6,571.00. Members of the Law Enforcement Torch Run team passed the bucket around the seats to collect donations. Last season Petes fans set a record of $5,071.00 only to surpass it by $1,500.00 tonight.
