Energy 99.7 and the Petes are turning your old bras into cash for breast cancer research! Clean out your drawers and bring us your gently used bras to the Petes game on Thursday, October 20 at 7:05pm against the Sarnia Sting. For every bra collected, one dollar will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society. On Friday, October 28th the bras will be wrapped around the Energy 99.7 building on George St. in honor of women living with breast cancer, the survivors, and in memory of those who have lost their battle to the disease. Make a monetary donation and top up the ta ta total! Drop off your gently used bras in the North Lobby at the Peterborough Memorial Centre on Thursday.
If you do not have a bra to donate you can purchase a “virtual bra” with all money going to the Canadian cancer Society. Follow this link to donate.
For more details on the Bras Around the Building campaign, please contact Energy 99.7 Promotions Manager Vince Bierworth at (705) 742-8844 ext. 4457, or by email.
The Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy will also be at Thursday’s game, raising awareness and funds to find a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. During the second intermission, Catie Sims and Zack Mitchell will participate in a puck drop with Petes players, and fans can also take part in a fundraising chuck-a-puck. Prizes available to be won include an autographed Petes jersey, an Alex Ovechkin Washington Capitals jersey, a Petes store gift certificate and tickets, and more. Check out the information booth in the North Lobby, and find out more about how to ‘End Duchenne’ here.
