How to Follow Petes Alumni at the Winter Olympics

The Olympics. Undoubtedly the biggest stage in all of sport, and for Canadians – at least for the last twenty years – the most important event in hockey, has taken shape every four years at the winter Games.

This February, though, to much debate and to many’s dismay, the world’s best players will not be featured in the quadrennial showcase, as the NHL and IOC could not reach an agreement to send elite players like Steven Stamkos, Connor McDavid, and their National Hockey League peers to the games.

What does this mean for Petes fans? It means you get to watch a greater number of Petes alumni represent their countries at the game. For the first time since the 1994 Lillehammer games, exclusively non-NHLers will compete under their respective flags, with teams made up mostly of minor pro players.
