Liam Kirk Named to Great Britain’s World Championship Roster

Ice Hockey UK announced Monday that Petes forward Liam Kirk has been named to Great Britain’s Men’s National Team.

The 25-man team will compete in the 2019 IIHF World Championship in Slovakia from May 11 through May 20. Other teams taking part include host team Slovakia, Canada, United States, Finland, Germany, Denmark, and France. Great Britain is taking part in the top division of the World Championship for the first time since 1994.

Kirk, who had 26 goals and 21 assists in 63 games with the Petes last season, was a member of last year’s Great Britain squad that earned promotion to the top division after winning the Division I Championship. He has also suited up for Great Britain for the 2017, 2018, and 2019 DIIA World Junior Championship tournaments as well as for the Under-18 team.
