Petes Select Nick Robertson Sixteenth Overall in 2017 OHL Priority Selection Presented by ATU 1320

The Peterborough Petes are excited to announce that they have selected Nick Robertson in the first round, sixteenth overall in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection presented by ATU 1320.

Robertson, a 5’6”, 130lbs right winger, played for the Toronto Red Wings in 2016-17. In 32 games, he recorded 18 goals, 18 assists, 36 points and 20 penalty minutes. The native of Northville, Michigan, will join his older brother Jason Robertson in the East Division. The older Robertson is a standout forward for the Kingston Frontenacs.

“Nick is a highly skilled and dynamic forward with a high hockey IQ and strong skating ability,” commented Petes Head Scout Chris McNamara. “He’s an elusive forward who creates offence and makes his teammates better.”

Robertson noted that “I’m extremely excited to be joining the Petes organization. I’m looking forward to playing against my brother and telling the Petes goalies his secrets.”

Nick was in Michigan, but took part in the press conference at the conclusion of the fifth round at the PMC on Saturday by Skype. It is expected that other top picks could be in attendance at the event in the Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame.
