Petes to Honor 1958/59 OHA Champion Team

The Peterborough Petes are proud to announce that they will be honoring the members of the 1958/1959 Peterborough TPT Petes team that won the Ontario Hockey Association Championships.

Prior to their game on Saturday, November 1st, 2008 vs. the Brampton Battalion the Peterborough Petes will hold a brief on-ice ceremony honoring the accomplishments of their alumni. During the games first intermission the alumni members will greet their fans and sign autographs in the Peterborough and District Sports Hall of Fame.

Members of the 58/59 team scheduled to attend include former players Chuck Adamson, Wayne Boddy, Pat Casey, Tom Clark, Bob Collins, Bill Mahoney, George Montague and Bob Rivard. Also scheduled to attend is former Head Coach Scotty Bowman.

In just their third year of existence the Petes knocked off two powerhouses to earn the right to represent Eastern Canada at the Memorial Cup.

The Petes rallied from a 6-2 deficit to beat Toronto St. Michael’s Majors 8-7 during their eight-point Ontario Hockey Association final.
