Petes Beat Gens 4-3 in Overtime

The Peterborough Petes kept a perfect 3-0 overtime/shootout record alive tonight when Pat Daley netted his third of the game 53 seconds into overtime giving the Petes a 4-3 victory in Oshawa tonight.

Justin Larson opened the scoring 1:36 into the game netting his 5th of the season.  The General however battled back with a goal by Christian Thomas at 4:05 to tie the game.  Daley would net his first of the game and 10th of the season at 6:08 on the powerplay to give the Petes a 2-1 first period lead.

The General got the lone goal of the second period when Jeff Hayes beat Jason Missiaen on the powerplay at 7:30 tying the game heading to the third period.

Daley again gave the Petes a one goal lead with his second of the game and 11th of the season at 11:52 of the period however Boone Jenner's 10th of the season at 18:26 tied the game at 3 sending it to overtime.

The Petes opened overtime with a 52 second power play, and it took Daley just 1 second longer to score his third of the game and team leading 12th of the season just 53 seconds into overtime giving the Petes a 4-3 win and pulling them with in 2 points of the Kingston Frontenacs for first in the East Division after the Frontenacs dropped an 8-1 decision to the Kitchener Rangers tonight.

Jason Missiaen earned first star honours for his 48 save effort while Daley was named second star.

Next action for the Petes is tomorrow night when they travel to St. Catherines to face the Niagara IceDogs in their second of five straight road games.  The Petes next home game is Thursday December 3rd when they host the Sudbury Wolves at 7:00pm.  This game is student night and all students can purchase a ticket for just $5.00.
