Fans Invited to Petes Skills Competition Supporting Faceoff Against Dementia
The Peterborough Petes are teaming up with the Peterborough Ice Kats girls hockey association to hold a skills competition at the Peterborough Memorial Centre from 4 to 5pm on Monday, January 4 in support of the Alzheimer Society of Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland & Haliburton.
Fans are encouraged to attend the free event and witness Petes and Ice Kats players showing off their skills in several competitions including hardest shot, fastest skater, team relay race, shot accuracy, and the hotly anticipated belly slide competition. Donations will be accepted and raffle tickets will be on sale at the event in support of the 2nd annual Faceoff Against Dementia event on Thursday, January 7.
The second annual Faceoff Against Dementia event supporting the Alzheimer Society of Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland & Haliburton will take place on January 7 when the Petes battle the rival Oshawa Generals at 7:05pm at the PMC. In the first annual event last year, the Petes took home the FoaD trophy with a 1-0 win against the Generals.

Tickets are selling out quickly for the rivalry game between the Petes and the 2015 Memorial Cup champion Generals. Fans are encouraged to use promotional code “ALZ” at the PMC Collins Barrow Box Office or online to save $4. The Petes will donate an additional $4 to the Alzheimer Society for every “ALZ” ticket sold.
