After falling 3-0 to the IceDogs in Niagara last night, the Peterborough Petes are working to break an offensive slump to get back to their winning ways. They’ll do so against the Sudbury Wolves who are visiting the PMC for the first time this season.
Along with having 2018 first overall pick Quinton Byfield in the fold, the Wolves are reaping the benefits of strong goaltending by Finnish import Ukko-Pekka Lukkonen who is ranked third among OHL goalies.
Speaking of strong goaltending, Hunter Jones has been a consistent force for the Petes thus far, appearing in all 14 of the team’s games, and sitting atop the league leaderboard in games played (14), minutes (776), shots (473), saves (441), and save percentage (0.932).
Off the ice, Energy 99.7 is tonight’s game sponsor! They’ll be giving a lucky fan an Ottawa Senators VIP experience in a bra-folded first intermission shootout ahead of their annual Bras Around the Building campaign which takes place tomorrow at their George Street station. Tonight’s second intermission chuck-a-puck is in support of the Kawartha Gymnastics club. Prizes up for grabs include a team-signed replica jersey, two tickets to an upcoming game, and a $25 gift card for The Petes Store.
