First Round Import Selection Brian Zanetti Commits to Peterborough Petes

Peterborough Petes General Manager Mike Oke announced Wednesday that the team has received a commitment from 2020 first round, 35th overall CHL Import Draft pick Brian Zanetti.

Zanetti, a 6’2”, 172lbs defenceman, played for HC Lugano U-20 Elit in Switzerland for the 2019-20 season. The 2003-born Switzerland native recorded 8 goals and 19 assists for 27 points in 38 games.

Zanetti has represented Switzerland at the U16, U17, and U18 levels, accumulating 23 points in 38 international match ups. He was one of two 2003-born players to be invited to Switzerland’s Under-20 summer camp scheduled to take place July 15-23 in Cham, Switzerland.

“In speaking with Brian and his family since selecting him in the Import Draft a few weeks ago, he is excited about coming to Peterborough and playing for the Petes to continue his development,” commented Oke.
