Last Chance to Vote for Northern Roads to Open for Meghan Trainor

The Peterborough Examiner

Former Peterborough Pete Matt McCartney’s band Northern Roads is in an online vote in a bid to become an opening act at a concert by Meghan Trainor that will be held in one of five nominated small towns in Canada.

Air Miles and concert promoter Live Nation have teamed up to create the Big Break Detour Contest, which is open to all Canadian musicians.

Under the promotion, Trainor will perform a concert in either Nelson, B.C., Moose Jaw, Sask., Mulmur, Ont., Morin Heights, Que. or Port Hawksbury, N.S. There is also an online vote to help pick which town.

Canadian bands were invited to create and post a video of themselves performing an original song in an unusual location.

Northern Roads performs their song Soaked Parade on a pedestrian bridge.

People can view the Northern Roads video and vote for the band at Tuesday is the last day to cast a vote.

In June, a panel of music industry people will pick one artist to open for the concert.

The winning band also gets free travel and accommodation for the concert, $500 in cash, 1,000 Air Miles Reward Miles and 10 tickets in the first five rows for guest for the concert.
