Petes acquire Brett Findlay from Greyhounds

The Peterborough Petes announced today that General Manager David Reid has completed a trade with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds to acquire overage forward Brett Findlay in exchange for a 15th round draft pick in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection and two conditional draft picks.  Should Findlay play for the Petes in 2012-13, the 15th round draft pick becomes a 2nd round pick in 2013 and a 3rd round pick in 2014.

The 6’, 174lbs centre from Echo Bay, Ontario has recorded back to back 20 goal seasons since joining the Greyhounds in 2010 as a free agent.

“The Peterborough Petes are pleased to be adding Brett Findlay to our organization” says General Manager David Reid. “Brett is a veteran OHL player who has proven he can contribute offensively and is a quality young man who will bring experience to our young group of forwards. Brett brings the experience we were looking for at the centre position and will be an important part of our team in the upcoming season.”

Brett will report to Peterborough when the Petes open main training camp on Wednesday August 29th, 2012 at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
