Petes Live Tracker of the 2021 OHL Priority Selection

The Peterborough Petes selected 14 players in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection presented by Real Canadian Superstore on Friday, June 4 and Saturday, June 5, 2021.

“We are really excited about this draft class and feel like we added tremendous talent,” commented General Manager, Michael Oke. “We are very excited about the future of the Peterborough Petes.”

With the 6th overall pick, the Petes selected forward Nick Lardis. In the fourteen rounds that followed, the team added 13 promising young players to the depth chart, including three centres, six forwards, four defencemen, and a goalie. They are as follows:

  • 1st round, 6th overall: Nick Lardis, RW, 5’10”, 155 lbs, Oakville Rangers
  • 3rd round, 49th overall: Zack Lewis, RW, 6’2″, 168 lbs, Guelph Gryphons
  • 4th round, 74th overall: James Guo, D, 6’1″, 180 lbs, Toronto Jr. Canadiens
  • 6th round, 114th overall: Quinton Page, C, 5’8″, 185 lbs, Vaughan Kings
  • 7th round, 125th overall: Sam McCue, LW, 6’1″, 164 lbs, Barrie Colts U16
  • 8th round, 154th overall: Gabriel Runco, D, 6’0″, 205 lbs, Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs
  • 9th round, 165th overall: Taylor Bothwell, LW, 6’4″, 185 lbs, Guelph Jr. Gryphons
  • 10th round, 194th overall: Owen McNamara, RW, 6’1″, 174 lbs, York Simcoe Express
  • 10th round, 195th overall: Jace McGrail, D, 5’11”, 185 lbs, Lambton Jr. Sting
  • 11th round, 205th overall: Xander Miceli, G, 6’1″, 154 lbs, North Jersey Avalanche
  • 12th round, 234th overall: Nolan Brett, C, 5’11”, 168 lbs, Brantford 99ers
  • 13th round, 245th overall: Maximus Macerollo, LW, 6’6″, 198 lbs, Guelph Jr. Gryphons
  • 14th round, 274th overall: Ryan Shier, C, 6’1″, 175 lbs, Central Ontario Wolves
  • 15th round, 285th overall: Darren Wilson, D, 5’10”, 171 lbs, Toronto Jr. Canadiens

During the 2021 OHL U18 Priority Selection on Wednesday, June 9, the Petes selected:

  • 1st round, 13th overall: Tyler Bono, RW, 6’5″, 215 lbs, Brockville Braves
  • 2nd round, 28th overall: Jaden Reyers, C, 6’3″, 200 lbs, Kitchener Jr. Rangers
