Today, Peterborough Petes General Manager Michael Oke announced defenceman Stevie Leskovar has signed a standard player agreement with the team.
Leskovar, a 6’3”, 183 lbs left shot d-man was selected by the team in the 5th round, 95th overall in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection. During the 2019-20 season, the Cambridge, Ontario native registered four goals, 21 assists, 25 points and 37 penalty minutes in 31 games with the Cambridge Hawks. In the postseason, Leskovar tallied one goal and five assists for six points in eight games.
“Growing up in Ontario, it’s been a dream of mine to sign with the OHL. The Petes are an amazing organization, I couldn’t ask for much more,” explained Leskovar.
“We’re excited to have Steve committed to the Petes,” said Oke. “He’s a hard-working defenceman that brings size, and strength to the lineup, and is well-linked by teammates and opponents.”
Leskovar will wear #3.
