Semyon Der-Arguchintsev Selected 76th Overall by Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft

With the 14th pick in the 3rd round, 76th overall in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft in Dallas, Texas, the Toronto Maple Leafs selected Petes centre Semyon Der-Arguchintsev.

Der-Arguchintsev, a centre from Moscow, Russia, had a productive season with the Petes in 2017-18. The sophomore registered 12 goals, 39 assists, 51 points and 18 penalty minutes this season, appearing in all of Peterborough’s 68 regular season games.

The 5’10”, 159lbs playmaker, who was named Peterborough’s most sportsmanlike player in 2017-18 and top rookie for the 2016-17 season, is described as a “playmaking centre with good hockey sense” (HockeyProspect.com).

Semyon joins Luke Richardson, Tie Domi, Bob Neely, and 9 others on the list of Petes to be drafted by the Leafs.
