GAME DAY COACHES CLINIC

OHL team coaches partner regularly with the OMHA as part of the OMHA Game Day Coaches Clinics program providing valuable development opportunities for minor hockey coaches to learn from some of the OHL’s best.

As part of the Peterborough Petes preseason presented by CIBC Wood Gundy Peterborough, the Petes are playing against the Niagara Icedogs in the brand new Cavan Monaghan Community Centre (CMCC) in Millbrook on September 14, 2019.

Members of the Petes coaching and management staff (including Rob Wilson, Andrew Verner, Derrick Walser, Broedie Birfhof, and Mike Oke) will host a Coaches Clinic that will feature presentations on season preparation, practice preparation, game preparation, special teams, coaching goalies, and stretching, diet & nutrition. Former Petes scout Mike MacPherson, who currently scouts for the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks, will close out the clinic with a presentation on grit, growth, and leadership.

The cost of the program is just $30 (HST included), payable via cash, credit, or debit on the day of the event. 100% of the proceeds from this event support the Millbrook & District Minor Hockey Association. The CMCC is located at 986 County Road 10 in Millbrook, Ontario. Light refreshments will be provided during the Clinic.

All attending coaches will receive three certification maintenance points toward their Hockey Canada coaching levels. Registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note that registration for this Clinic does not include a ticket to the sold out pre-season game between the Petes and IceDogs on Sept. 14 at 7:05pm.

12:30pm: Pre-Game Preparation with Rob Wilson

2:00pm: Coaching Goalies with Andrew Verner
2:45pm: Value of Stretching, Diet & Nutrition with Broedie Birkhof
3:30pm: Building Season Plan with Mike Oke
4:00pm: Grit, Growth & Leadership – Mike MacPherson

Coaches Clinic Registration
