Declan Chisholm Selected in the 5th Round, 150th Overall by Winnipeg Jets in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft

With the 26th pick in the 5th round, 150th overall in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft in Dallas, Texas, the Winnipeg Jets selected Petes defenseman Declan Chisholm.

Chisholm, a rearguard from Bowmanville, Ontario, had a solid season on the blue line for the Petes in 2017-18 despite multiple injuries. The sophomore registered 3 goals, 17 assists, 20 points and 16 penalty minutes last season, playing in 47 regular season games.

The 6’1”, 185lbs left hander, who was named Peterborough’s best defenseman for the 2017-18 season, is described as “an intelligent, two-way defender with strong mobility” (HockeyProspect.com).

Declan is the first Pete to be drafted by the Jets since their return to Winnipeg. Petes alumnus Zach Bogosian was drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers before their relocation in 2011.
